Pelletizing Plant - How can Danby Land Bank move Community Biomass Energy forward?
The Community Biomass Energy Steering committee consists of Tony Nekut, Ben Boynton, Ken White, and Elizabeth Keokosky. Their mission statement is “to responsibly transform locally produced biomass into sustainable energy products for the community.”
A biofeedstock suppler needs a biomass producer. The Danby Land Bank needs a pelletizer plant for a market for goldenrod. Currently Community Biomass Energy has land and a location near Danby in Caroline on Boiceville Rd. The proposed schedule is to start construction in 2010 and begin production in 2011. They are looking for investors.
Members can volunteer or invest in Community Biomass Energy – it will forward both the economic and sustainability goals of the Danby Land Bank. Return on investment is multifaceted. Besides return on original investment, you will provide a market for yourself, contribute to the local economy, and Danby Land Bank will have more influence shaping sustainability policies for use of biomass.
Think of using pellets in your next stove or furnace purchase – you will be supplying your own energy and beginning to control your own energy future.
